After shaking and shuddering uncontrollably in the waiting room, she did settle down by the time our vet came into the exam room. She was a very good girl considering the poking and prodding (plus never having had a proper trip to the veterinarian either) she had to endure plus the blood test and slow blood draw. She was a very good girl. Lots of doting on her by the entire staff. She is a copper beauty! (just like my girl Alba!)

Hello! Kay Ingle shared your blog on the yahoo group "Vizsla Talk" and I thought I'd say hi! I have two vizslas - one I adopted through VRH (Kay!). It's great that you took in Daisy! Our other vizsla Kyburz was about 9 months when we took in Rudi. I was worried that Ky wouldn't adapt since he was/is a real Momma's boy. But they bonded almost immediately and are best buds. It is really funny to watch them play together! Ky is much bigger than Rudi, but he's pretty gentle most of they time. Anyway, thanks for the blog - it's wonderful - I'll enjoy following it. I also wanted to tell you that we couldn't keep enough weight on Kyburz free feeding him dry food .. we eventually started adding canned food and dried raw to his food to get him to gain weight. During the winter, I'll feed him an extra can of raw at night if he wants it. He does run a lot, but I think some V's tend more toward skinny than others. Rudi is on pretty much the same diet although not with extra cans of food - he's about 40 lbs ( a very tiny male) and Ky is about 61 lbs ... so I have mutt and Jeff LOL! So you might need to supplement at least for awhile. We do grain free food - Natures Variety Instict kibble, but vary the wet a bit more. DNA raw air dried food is the other that we supplement with. Have fun! Jodi
